 Polartec® APEX Award
Polartec® APEX Award is given to the companies that have developed
the most outstanding Polartec®-based products over the past
year. An independent, international jury selects the winners. The
products are divided into different categories and markets. In
order for a product to be given an award, it must meet with the
jury’s requirements. Several products can be given awards
in one category. Should none of the products in a given category
meet with the requirements of the jury, no winner is chosen.
Every year hundreds of products are
evaluated from leading brand names in outdoor, hunting, cycling,
skiing, sailing, sports fashions, and
now dog sports as well. The jury presented a total of 15 companies
with the Polartec® APEX Award. The winners include great brand
names such as Arc´Teryx, The North Face, Henri Lloyd and
Browning. Two Scandinavian companies where amongst the winners
in year 2002; OBTRACK™ and Haglöfs.
Criteria
The entries are measured against their intended end-use and judged
on:
- innovation and versatility.
- functionality, fit and comfort, which includes performance and wear qualities.
- aesthetics, which includes beauty, style, flair and the fundamentals of good
design.
